PingCab is built by Ashwrk Ltd in Holyhead, Anglesey. We started with a simple frustration: booking a taxi at home in North Wales meant ringing round engaged phone lines, while the big apps that "solved" this elsewhere squeeze local firms for a quarter of every fare. We built the third option.

What we believe
Your request is broadcast to licensed local firms, and a firm — through its drivers — chooses to accept it. PingCab is the messenger, never the dispatcher. That keeps firms in charge of their own business.
The firm keeps the full fare. Our income is a small rider-paid booking fee — 6% of the fare, between £1 and £2.50, never more than 20% of the fare — shown before you book, and a monthly per-vehicle subscription that sets how fast firms get paid out.
Every ride on PingCab is run by a council-licensed taxi firm and a badged driver in a plated vehicle. Drivers join by invitation from their firm, and the firm approves their documents — no exceptions.
Why North Wales
The big platforms skipped places like Bangor, Caernarfon and Llandudno — too small for their maths. We think that maths is the problem. A platform that takes nothing from the fare doesn't need a million rides a week to work; it needs local firms doing what they already do, with better tools.
So we're starting at home: signing our founding firms across Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy, and growing town by town as each firm switches on its patch.
